Alumni Academic Scholarship
Sherwood Park -- Bev Facey Community High School is inviting Falcon football alumni to apply for one of our annual $1000 scholarships.
To be eligible for our scholarships, applicants must have graduated from the school's football program; be registered in a post-secondary institution or training program; and volunteer or coach in the school or local community. Priority will be given to student-athletes who have played or are currently playing football at the university or junior level, and to those who continue to represent the virtues of the Facey Way in their community.
This scholarship is designed to reward former football program students for their athleticism, as well as modeling commitment, respect, dedication, loyalty, and enthusiasm in their daily lives.
Applicants must provide confirmation of their school or program registration, a reference letter supporting their submission, and the completed application form to the Bev Facey Community High School general office by November 1 of the current year.
The alumni scholarship was created in conjunction with the 2005 Bev Facey Football 20th anniversary celebrations. Proceeds from the Adopt-a-Helmet program and Educational Sponsorship Program have created multiple scholarships of $1000.00 each. It is hoped future proceeds will continue to enhance the fund over time. Bev Facey Community High School serves approximately 1,050 students in grades 10 to 12 and is one of eight high schools in Elk Island Public Schools. The Bev Facey Falcons are annual ranked one of Alberta's top Tier I football teams.
The purpose of the Alumni scholarship is to provide assistance to those players who continued to play football after high school. Over the past 15 years over 130 athletes have gone on to excel at the next level. 2019 marks the 14th year for the Facey Football Alumni Scholarship program.
